“The Lewiston Senior Citizens” Organization Offers Great Senior Activities

And the trend is going up-up-up! In fact, according to the Bangor Daily News, “By 2030, 28 percent of Maine’s population will be 65 or older, higher than any other state.”
For this reason, communities like Lewiston-Auburn have devoted a great deal of care, thought, and energy into building a warm, welcoming, stimulating, and engaging community for seniors—one where senior activities are plentiful and easy to find. The Lewiston-Auburn community feels so passionately about this that they launched a very special organization called “The Lewiston Senior Citizens.” Here’s what you should know about this life-enriching organization:
Open to any area resident aged 50 or older, The Lewiston Senior Citizens is run by a carefully-selected Board of Directors and offers a wonderfully varied range of senior activities and classes. By joining, seniors enjoy a deeper sense of community and well-being through daily contact with friendly peers.
Afternoons (except Tuesday and Thursday) are available for card playing, puzzles, board games, and other senior activities and games at the Senior Center. The Lewiston Senior Citizens also organize fundraisers, the annual “Just Us” Concert, parties, and other special events throughout the year. A Senior Fun Day is held in August, and the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas Party are not to be missed!
Membership in The Lewiston Senior Citizens is just $10 per year and that includes a monthly mailed newsletter, so you constantly know which senior activities are being offered on specific upcoming days during the month.
